Matchday ("we," "our," or "the Service") is a web application that scores past Premier League matches and recommends the best to watch, and predicts which upcoming games will be the most exciting. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our site works.

What We Do Not Collect

Matchday is designed with privacy in mind. We do not:

  • Require user accounts, logins, or registration of any kind
  • Collect your name, email address, or any personal information
  • Use cookies of any kind
  • Track you across websites or applications
  • Store or log your IP address
  • Sell, share, or trade any data with third parties
  • Use fingerprinting or any form of user identification

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate. Vercel Analytics is privacy-focused and does not use cookies or collect personal identifiers.

The following anonymized data points may be collected with each page view:

  • Page URL and referrer
  • Timestamp of the visit
  • General geolocation (country, region, city) — derived at the network edge, not from your IP address
  • Device type (mobile, desktop, tablet)
  • Browser and operating system type and version

Your IP address is not stored by Vercel Analytics. All data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify or re-identify individual visitors. No personal identifiers that track users across different applications or websites are collected.

Browser Storage

Matchday uses your browser's local storage (localStorage) to save the following preferences on your device:

  • Favorite team preference — If you select a favorite team, your choice (team name, team ID, and logo URL) is saved so it persists between visits.

This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. It contains no personal information. You can clear this data at any time by removing your favorite team selection in the app, or by clearing your browser's site data.

Third-Party Services

The Service uses the following third-party services that may process limited technical data when you visit:

  • Vercel — Hosting and analytics. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — Font delivery. Your browser makes standard requests to Google's font servers to load the typefaces used on this site.
  • Sportmonks / API-Football CDN — Team logos and images are loaded directly from the data provider's content delivery network.

Match data displayed on the Service is sourced from third-party sports data providers. This data is fetched by our servers and does not involve any data about you.

Data Retention

  • localStorage data persists on your device until you clear it manually (via the app or browser settings).
  • Analytics data is retained by Vercel in accordance with their data retention policies.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the Service does not collect personal information from any user, no special protections are triggered. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the Service, please contact us.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), or other applicable regulations. These may include the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and the right to opt out of data sales.

Because Matchday does not collect personal information, create user profiles, or sell data, these rights are largely not applicable. However, you are always welcome to contact us with any privacy-related questions or concerns.

International Users

The Service is hosted on Vercel's global edge network. Aggregated analytics data may be processed in the United States or other countries where Vercel operates. Since no personal data is collected, cross-border data transfer concerns are minimal.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
